This past weekend at the State Bar of Michigan Alternative Dispute Resolution Section's Annual Meeting and Conference I was selected to chair the section starting in September of 2014. This will be a great challenge, but with the help of those of you who are members of the section, we can meet all the challenges that ADR faces in the coming year. This year at the Annual Meeting there were multiple presenters, all of whom were "home grown" inculding my presentation with Mary Bedikian on the RUAA. The content was excellent as were the presenters. I urge those of you out there who follow this blog to join the section, if you have not done it already, and get active. Help me to work on the ADR challeges that will arise in the coming years. Additionally, I will be moderating and presenting at the Advanced Dispute Resolution Institute sponsored by the ADR Section and ICLE the arbitration track. There will be some very good tips on growing your ADR business, managing the process, discussing the new American Arbitration Commercial Rules, and a fantastic update on cases and laws effecting arbitration. So plan on attending.
