Martin C. Weisman was born in Newark, New Jersey, on July 2, 1945. He was admitted to the Bar for the State of Michigan in 1970. Mr. Weisman received his education at Ohio Wesleyan University (B.A. Cum Laude in 1967); University of Michigan (J.D. in 1970).
Mr. Weisman is a member of the Detroit (Chairman Young Lawyers Section, 1974-75), Oakland County and American Bar Associations; the State Bar of Michigan (member of Young Lawyers Executive Counsel, 1973-76); Michigan Trial Lawyers Association, the Association of Trial Lawyers of America, American Judicature Society, a former member of the Advisory Counsel of Real Estate and Money Magazine, a publication of the Banking Law Institute, member of Banking Law Institute, member of ABA Real Property Litigation Committee as well as the ABA ADR Committee, member of Real Property Law Section of State Bar Association of Michigan, Co-Chairman and founder of the ADR Committee of the Real Property Law Section, Chairman Oakland County Bar Association Circuit Court Committee (1987-88), charter member of the Academy of Hospitality Industry Attorneys, a Fellow of the Michigan State and Oakland County Bar Foundations, and is a partner in the law firm of Weisman, Young & Ruemenapp, P.C., 30100 Telegraph Road, Suite 428, Bingham Farms, Michigan 48025, (248) 258-2700, [email protected].
Mr. Weisman has specialized in commercial litigation for over 42 years, particularly in the areas of partnership, shareholder and banking disputes, has prepared materials for and lectured in numerous continuing legal education programs, has represented shareholders, partners, borrowers, lenders, buyers and sellers, has testified as an expert witness on various aspects of banking, lending, corporate/partnership and real estate practices, as well as in profession negligence matters, and has an active practice as a court appointed special master, arbitrator, mediator, and facilitator in commercial disputes.
